Dr. Manan Vora, a Mumbai-based orthopedic surgeon and health educator, has identified eight everyday habits that may be silently damaging your organs. In an Instagram video posted on September 18, she explained how everyday habits – from rubbing eyes and overeating to sitting for long periods of time – can affect various parts of the body.

According to Dr. Vora, mouth breathing dries up the airways and increases the risk of infection.

Heart

Dr. Vora explains, sitting for a long time can impair blood circulation and put additional pressure on the heart.

eyes

Rubbing your eyes frequently can silently damage your cornea. Dr. Vora emphasizes, “Rubbing the eyes can damage the cornea and lead to long-term vision loss.”

stomach

Dr. Vora suggests controlling overeating and avoiding eating too frequently, as these habits can impair digestion.

liver

“A heavy meal late at night puts a burden on the liver and affects the metabolism,” says the orthopedic specialist.
