New Delhi. Bluesky, the micro-blogging platform created by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, has now been made open to everyone. This app was available only as an invite-only app for about a year. This platform was introduced in beta version last February. At present there are more than 3 million users of this platform.
Now that the waitlist to join this platform has been removed. In such a situation, now everyone can join the open-source platform which is considered an alternative to X (earlier Twitter). The good thing is that it is not much different than the X. There’s a home page that shows text posts and images from people you follow.

Bluesky has decentralized structure
These posts are called skeets and they are arranged chronologically. However, users can also follow algorithmic feeds created by other users to see more personalized content. This is possible because of the technology that resides within the app, a decentralized structure that the people at BlueSky call the ‘AT Protocol’.
Since BlueSky is an open-source, decentralized platform, developers can write their own code on top of the AT protocol to create anything from custom algorithms, and this is what allows them to create custom feeds. Not only this, the upcoming BlueSky will also allow other developers to create their own version of the service through federation.
Now all users can download this app. It is available on both iOS and Android. To login into it, an ID will have to be created. For this e-mail and phone number will be required.
