Guilded Age is returning to HBO and Max for its much awaited third season on Sunday, 22 June. The show is once again submerged to the audience into the ambiguity and ambition of New York of the 1880s. But for the creators Julian Fellow and Sonja Warfield, the relevance of the story is spread beyond the velvet drawing room of the past. It also connects to today’s ego-fuel billionaire culture, in a report in Boston Herald.
According to the report, speaking at an event in Fellow, Manhattan, the premature similarities were reflected between modern tech magnets such as the Industrial Tycoon and Elon Musk at the end of the 19th century.

The show, which follows the fierce social fight between old money families and ambitious new industrialists, states how the wealth was-and still used to gain cultural dominance.
Fellow said many industrial tycoon of the 19th century, such as Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Fri, turned into philanthropy only towards the end of their lives. He shared that he thought of heritage that he would leave him behind, inspiring him to start his art collection and donate libraries.
