The first season of Mirzapur The show thrilled us in 2018. It had action, deception, politics and a lot of power. Vikrant Massey aka Bablu Pandit’s death made fans cry while Pankaj Tripathi’s menacing behavior as Kaleen Bhaiya left the audience in awe. In the second season, Ali Fazal aka Guddu Pandit’s hunger for revenge made us root for him while Divyenndu’s versatile performance enthralled the audience. Mirzapur’s It was a great experience to watch the power-hungry prince Munna Bhaiya. After a long wait of four years, fans finally got their chance. Mirzapur 3 Tonight at midnight. But unfortunately season 3 failed to impress the audience.
Along with Guddu and Kaleen Bhaiya, Rasika Duggal played Beena Tripathi and Shweta Tripathi played Golu. But Munna Bhaiya was missed a lot. Well, soon after season 3 hit the digital platform, many eager fans watched almost all the episodes. However, most were left disappointed. While some felt the season was boring, others were unhappy with the lack of storyline. For instance, a disappointed fan of the show tweeted: “Finally finished #MirzapurSeason3 with low expectations. Lots of time was needed to focus on the politics of the throne of #Mirzapur – 10 episodes, each an hour long – makes it disappointing and boring..🥲🥲 Nevertheless, the last 2 episodes and a post-credits scene hint at future developments in this universe.”
Another review read: “The weakest season ever. Lack of purpose. Makers had no story so they kept filling the screen with unnecessary scenes and characters. Good first episode. Move on to episode 5 as episodes 2-3-4 have nothing important to offer. Previous important characters sidelined. Haphazard screenplay, occasional laughs”, while a third social media user asked, “Is it just me or did the audience find #Mirzapur3 boring, unnecessarily dragged, poorly written dialogues and what not? Shows of this kind of genre just don’t care about the story at this point.”
The post-credits scene suggests that Mirzapur Season 4. But will fans wait for it as eagerly as they did for season 3, which is clearly not a winner? Let’s see.
