British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch, who was recently acquitted in the United States of an $11 billion fraud case, is among those missing after a boat carrying 22 people sank off the coast of southern Italy during a violent storm, news agency AFP reported on Monday.
Lynch, the founder of the Autonomy Corporation, was one of four Britons reported missing, while his wife Angela Bacares was rescued, AFP quoted Salvo Cocina of the Civil Protection Agency as saying.
Two Americans and a Canadian are also missing. Coast Guard patrol boats and firefighters rescued fifteen people, including a one-year-old child, the civil defense agency said.
