The upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO will feature a new exterior and interior inspired by the XEV 9e.
Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing several launches for the Indian market. One of the key ones will be the new version of the XUV700, which will go on sale in late December or early January. However, more importantly, it seems that the domestic manufacturer has decided to change the name of the SUV upon launch. The brand has filed a trademark filing for the ‘XUV 7XO’ moniker. This is not the first time that Mahindra has changed the name of its product. Earlier, the XUV300 was renamed as XUV 3XO. That’s not it, the brand also has a trademark filing for the XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO nameplates. Therefore, there may be new products in the future that may use these names.

What will be the changes in the exterior of Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The exterior of the XUV 7XO will feature a new headlight design. It will have dual barrels like we have seen on the Scorpio N. They will still be LED headlamps, but Mahindra may use a projector setup this time. Daytime running lamp will no longer pull down; Instead, it will form a U-shape.
There will be a new grille at the front, which reminds me of the one we saw on the XUV500. The bumper will also be redesigned. On the sides, there will be a new set of alloy wheels, flush door handles and roof rails carried forward. At the rear, the tail lamp design will remain the same, but we are expecting some minor changes in the lighting elements. Having said that, it was interesting to see that the test vehicle still used halogen bulbs for the taillights.

What will be the changes in the interior of Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The upcoming XEV 9e will now inspire the interiors of the XUV 7XO. So, expect it to get the same two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Mahindra logo and a three-screen layout, which means the passenger will get his own screen too. Mahindra may also add Dolby Atmos, captain seats for the second row, ventilation function, front parking sensors and automatic parking etc.
What will be the engine options of Mahindra XUV 7XO?
Powering the XUV 7XO will be the same set of engines as the existing XUV700. So, there will be a 2.2-litre diesel engine in two states of tune and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine in a single state of tune. However, we hope there will be driving modes now with the turbo petrol engine as it is quite thirsty.
