New Delhi. After bikes, scooters dominate the roads of India. There is no hassle of changing gears frequently in a scooter like a bike, so it is easy to drive and due to this people of all ages like them. Scooters have also started getting many features like bikes. Nowadays scooters are coming with many advanced features like disc brake, digital meter, Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity.
Let us tell you that scooters have an automatic gearbox which is called Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Scooters are gearless, so you cannot park them on a slope by putting them in gear like a bike. Because of this, there is a problem in parking the scooter in such places. However, to deal with this problem, companies provide a feature in scooters which is currently available only in cars. Let us know what is that feature which is necessary for the safety of the scooter.
The scooter gets a hand brake like a car
When you park the scooter, the company provides a handbrake to prevent it from rolling. But most of the scooter riders do not know where the handbrake is. By applying the handbrake, you can easily park the scooter even on a sloping road. But the question is where is this handbrake?

Actually, this hand brake is attached to the left brake of the scooter. It is a small metal lever which when lifted applies the hand brake to the scooter after which no matter how much you shake your scooter, it will not move from its place. So let’s know how it works.
How to apply hand brake in scooter
To apply the hand brake on a scooter, first of all you have to press the left brake lever completely. After this, you have to lift the small lever given in front of the brake lever upwards with the help of one of your fingers. As soon as you do this, the brake gets applied to the rear wheel of the scooter. Actually, this mechanism is to lock the wheels of the scooter because they do not have a manual gear box, so that the movement of the wheels in the vehicles can be locked without applying the brake.

Nowadays, in many scooters, a clip system is provided in place of the hand brake lever. Its job is also to lock the wheel. You can apply the brake by pressing it in the same direction while pressing the left brake.
