A Class 5 student of a government school here was allegedly hit by her teacher with a stick for not folding her mat properly, resulting in a fracture in her arm, officials said.
An FIR has been registered against teacher Abdul Aziz in connection with the incident that took place on Saturday at Government Higher Secondary School Telia Kheri in Modak police station area. He told that the education department has also started investigation against him.
The matter came to light when Abid Khan, sarpanch of Askali gram panchayat, where the girl lives, informed Rajasthan Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar about it during a public grievance redressal camp in Zulmi village of Ramganj Mandi in his constituency on Saturday evening. Informed.
After learning about the incident, Dilawar called the 10-year-old boy to the camp. Officials said Khan brought the girl to the camp and narrated the entire incident.
According to the girl, her class teacher Aziz asked her to lay and fix the mat. She claimed that even though she followed Aziz’s instructions, he became angry and accused her of disobeying him. He then allegedly hit her with a stick, breaking her hand.
On the instructions of the Minister, an FIR was registered against Aziz under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 126(2) (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) and investigation was initiated. Modak station house officer Yogesh Sharma said, the girl was sent for medical examination on Sunday morning and the report is awaited.
He said that the teacher has not been interrogated yet. Officials said that on the instructions of the minister, the education department has also started an investigation against Aziz.
