Kerala SSLC 10th Exam 2026 to begin from March 5 for around 4.25 lakh students

General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Wednesday announced that 425,000 students are expected to appear for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination in Kerala during the current academic year.

As per PTI report, the exams are scheduled to begin on March 5, 2026, and end on March 30. The minister said the evaluation process will take place from April 7 to 25 and the result is expected to be declared on May 8, 2026.

He said around 3,000 examination centers have been set up, including seven in the Gulf region and nine in Lakshadweep.

Meanwhile, around nine lakh students are expected to appear for the Plus One and Plus Two (higher secondary first and second year) examinations this academic year, Sivankutty said.

He informed that the Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary first year public examinations will be conducted from March 5 to 27, 2026, while the second year examinations are scheduled from March 6 to 28, 2026.

The minister said that the evaluation of these examinations is expected to begin on April 6, 2026, with the results likely to be declared by May 22, 2026.

To pass the Kerala Class 10, 11 and 12 examinations, students must score a minimum of 33 percent marks in each subject as well as overall.

Last year’s passing percentage

In 2025, Kerala Board of Public Examination (KBPE) declared the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination results on 9 May. Of the 4,27,021 students who appeared for the Kerala SSLC 2025 exam, 4,24,583 passed, which is a pass percentage of 99.5 percent. Kannur topped with 99.87 per cent, while Thiruvananthapuram was the lowest with 98.59 per cent.

4,27,021 students took the SSLC exam, which was held from March 3 to 26. The exam was conducted at 2,964 centers across Kerala as well as nine centers in Lakshadweep and seven centers in the Gulf countries. A total of 2,331 schools achieved 100 percent pass percentage in the Kerala SSLC exam 2025. A total of 61,449 students achieved A+ grade in all subjects.
