All educational institutions, including schools, colleges and professional colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, will remain closed on 26 September due to continuous heavy rains. The announcement was made by the District Collector, who instructed the students to stay indoors and use time for self-study or other productive activities. Despite the closure, the public examinations prescribed for today will be operated as a plan without any changes in the timetable.
According to the forecast by the Meteorological Department of India (IMD), heavy rainfall between 7 cm and 11 cm between 7 cm and 11 cm has been measured between 25 and 27 September. The authorities have urged the residents to be vigilant and to take the necessary precautions in the light of the weather conditions.
