Speaking at the ‘Writing on Travel Destinations’ session, travel documentary filmmaker Priya Ganapathy said Kerala’s tourism sector has successfully balanced the luxury and budget segments, making the state a versatile destination for all travelers, according to a statement on Saturday.
“Beyond regular destinations and packages, the tourism sector must now focus on providing unique experiences through lesser-known attractions that offer memorable, unique experiences to travellers,” he said.

The period has also seen a rise in the popularity of travel writing, photography and video documentation of trips, Anand said.
Actress and vlogger Anumol shared her solo travel experiences, saying, “Travel is not just about visiting places, but also about meeting people, understanding their lives and immersing yourself in those experiences.”
During the session ‘Couch Surfing, anyone?’ Dr. Ginu Zakaria Umman, Chairman, Kerala Food Commission, emphasized that the essence of tourism is to take people towards authentic and unique experiences.
In a session titled ‘My Cuban Days’, journalist and author NP Mention recounts his experiences of traveling to Cuba in conversation with culture and travel writer AU Faisal Khan.
Citing Kerala’s picturesque landscape, the panelists said the state offers immense depth to travel writers to explore and find remarkable stories.
In the session ‘Over the Mountain, Under the Sea’, Sri Lankan author and travel writer Andrew Fidel Fernando said that India is a wonderful travel destination, full of untold stories.

Organized by Kerala Tourism at Ranga Kala Kendram at The Cliff, the October 17-19 festival brought together leading travel writers, vloggers and social media influencers from across the world who shared insights on sustainable and inclusive tourism to meet the needs of modern travellers.
The theme of the three-day festival is ‘Celebrating Words and Wanderlust’.
