The minimum marks to pass the exam is 60 percent. For other reserved categories it is 55 percent. Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET 2024) has been conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts in classes 1 to 8.

KARTET 2025 was scheduled for December 7, 2025. The exam was conducted in two sessions: 9.30 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
A total of 46 examination centers were set up in Dharwad district, including 24 in Hubli city and 22 in Dharwad city. For the morning session, 13 centers were set up in Hubli and 1 center in Dharwad city, which accommodated 3339 candidates. For the afternoon session, 46 centers in Hubli and Dharwad cities were to serve 12,164 candidates.

There is no age limit to apply for Karnataka TET. Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in their Class 12 examination and must have passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) for the post of Primary Teacher (Classes 1 to 5). For the post of Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6 to 8), candidates must have at least 50% marks in graduation or must have passed the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or B.Ed.
