JoSAA has declared the results of Round 1 seat allotment. From June 20 to June 25, candidates have to pay the fees and upload the documents
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) announced the results of the first round of seat allocation today, June 20. Scheduled from June 20 to June 25, candidates will have an online reporting period to complete various tasks including fee payment, document upload and answering questions. The allocation is being done for candidates who have applied for admission to undergraduate programmes at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and seats within the NIT+ system.
Candidates who have registered for the counselling process can download their seat allotment from the official website josaa.nic.in from 10 am onwards. To access the seat allotment, candidates will have to enter their registration number and date of birth.
From June 20 to June 25, candidates will have to complete the fee payment, upload documents and answer any questions if required for Round 1. The last date to answer questions for Round 1 has been fixed as June 26, 2024. The JoSAA counselling process will run for five rounds. Allotment results for the upcoming rounds will be released on June 27, July 4, July 10 and July 17 in that order.
Documents required for verification
Provisional seat allotment letter, two passport size photographs and an undertaking by the candidate. Additionally, proof of seat acceptance fee payment through SBI e-challan or net banking is required. SC/ST/PWD candidates have to pay Rs 15,000 and others Rs 35,000.
A valid photo ID card, JEE Advanced 2024 admit card and proof of date of birth (10th class mark sheet) are also required. In addition, candidates must submit their 12th class mark sheet and pass certificate as well as medical certificate. Category and PWD certificates must be provided if applicable, and for foreign nationals, passport or OCI certificate is required, as well as DS certificate if applicable. Candidates must submit their registration cum locked choices for seat allotment.
According to the report, during online reporting, students will have the option to choose either freeze, float or slide. If a student is satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round and does not want to participate in the further process, he can choose the freeze option. On the other hand, students who want to participate in further counselling rounds can choose the float or slide option.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for 2024 will enable admission to 121 institutes for the academic year 2024-25. These institutes include 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 40 other government-funded technical institutes (other-GFTIs).
