Highlighting the changing public sentiment towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “weak PM”, and said the longevity of the NDA government in nine states would be crucial for the upcoming elections. Kishor also said that if the assembly election results were not in favor of the saffron party, the “stability of the government” would come under question.
He said, “If the results are against BJP, then questions will definitely be raised on the stability of the government.” If BJP performs well in these states then it will remain in power.
‘BJP cannot win Bihar elections with Nitish Kumar’
Commenting on BJP’s prospects in the Bihar state assembly elections, Kishor said that the party cannot remove Nitish Kumar from the post of Bihar CM, also, it is difficult for the party to win the Bihar elections with his help.
“BJP has a compulsion that it cannot remove Nitish Kumar from the post of Chief Minister. They also know that they cannot win elections in Bihar if Nitish is the chief minister, but they cannot do anything in Bihar because they need Nitish’s help to run the government in Delhi,” Prashant Kishor told ANI on Monday. .
Praising Rahul Gandhi’s efforts, Prashant Kishore said that there has been “a little improvement in the situation of Congress”. He also said that Gandhi’s leadership in Congress is fully established but he still has a long way to go to become the leader of the country.
He said, “There has been a slight improvement in the situation of the Congress…Rahul Gandhi has made efforts in the last one and a half to two years and he has also benefited from it.” His leadership in the Congress has been completely established. But now he has been established not as the leader of the country but of the Congress. His grandmother Indira Gandhi suffered the biggest defeat of her life in 1977 – I think Congress won 154 seats at that time. This (2024 elections) is being termed as the biggest victory of Rahul Gandhi’s life and Congress has won 99 seats. So, that’s the difference. This shows that Rahul Gandhi still has a long way to go to become the leader of the country,” ANI quoted Kishor as saying.
