Make it a habit to oil your hair regularly
Dr. Shilpa Vora advises, “Regular hair oiling is the most effective, cost-effective and long-lasting remedy to help repair damaged hair. To reap the full benefits of hair oiling, make it a regular habit to apply oil 1 to 2 times a week. Apply the oil on the scalp first, massage gently to get the blood circulation going. Apply the oil from roots to ends, leave it on for at least 30 minutes for deep nourishment. This will help improve blood flow to the hair follicles.”
Choosing the right hair oil
According to Dr. Shilpa Vora, while there are many options available, you need to ensure that you choose the right kind of hair oil for your hair needs that is non-greasy, lightweight, controls frizz and softens your hair, to effectively address one of the most common hair problems during monsoons. She explains, “Coconut-based hair oil can penetrate up to 10 layers deep into your hair (disclaimer- based on technical studies), making hair smooth and frizz-free. Aloe vera is known to be a great ingredient to improve overall hair health. When combined, the deep nourishment of coconut and the conditioning benefits of aloe vera help you control frizz, resulting in soft and manageable hair.”
