Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi has announced that its flagship event, Research Innovation and Incubation Showcase (RIISE) 2024, will be held on March 15 and 16, 2024.
According to a press release issued by IIIT Delhi, experts from academia, industry and government are expected to participate in the event.
The RIISE 2024 edition will be organized under the overarching theme of ‘Build for India’, which will serve as a rallying call for dedicated innovators, entrepreneurs and changemakers to pioneer home-grown solutions, the release said.

The theme represents a vision for the nation inspired by indigenous solutions that address critical challenges with ingenuity and practicality, the release said. ‘Build for India’ also celebrates the heroes who work tirelessly to shape a brighter tomorrow, empower grassroots initiatives, foster collaborative ecosystems and pave the way for a more inclusive and prosperous India .
Dr. Jaswinder Chadha, President and CEO of Xtria, will be attending as the chief guest, and Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India will deliver the keynote address.

Some of the sessions included in the event:
- Robotics and Space Technology: Highlight progress in automating critical tasks and promoting space exploration. Insights will be shared by speakers including Professor Puneet Singla of Penn State University and Professor SK Saha of IIT Delhi. Some of the panelists will include Tushar Jadhav from Manastu Space, Dr. Rajesh Kumar from Adverb, Professor Soumya Ranjan from IIT Kanpur and Rajeev Ranjan from Indian Air Force.
- Perspectives on Time, History and Modernity: Experts will focus on the complex interplay of lived experiences, clock time, and historical narratives that influence the contemporary world. Speakers include Professor Kanchana Mahadevan from Bombay University and Professor Babu Thaliath from JNU, Dr Arun Iyer from IIT Bombay, Dr Huzaifa Siddiqui from Ashoka University, Professor Ananya Vajpayee from the Center for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi. even more.
- Bharat AI: It will highlight the importance of indigenous AI solutions in shaping the future of India. Speakers include Soma Dhawal from Wadhwani AI, Nilay Srivastava from Adobe Research, Mihir Kulkarni from Wadhwani AI, Dr. Ankur Arora from Mastercard and others.
- Other sessions will be on topics including 5G/6G, Computational Gastronomy, Design for India and Sustainable Mobility, among others.
Additionally, attendees of RIISE 2024 will also witness a series of key events designed to foster innovation and collaboration. These include:

Dean of Corporate Relations and Entrepreneurship Prof. Pankaj Bajpai highlighted that RIISE 2024 will showcase the exciting work being done by students and faculty, some of which has the potential to bring about change in society.
