India can be more than 440 million obese and overweight people in India by 2050, which is the second largest in the world after China, while the US, Brazil and Nigeria will be third, fourth and fifth respectively.

According to a study by The Lancet Medical Journal, the number of thick people worldwide increased from 929 million in 1990 to 2.6 billion in 2021, using data from 204 countries, described as one of the great health challenges of this century.

Strong government action requires
The study urged governments around the world to take action to control obesity.
