IIT Roorkee has started its 2025-26 placement season on a high note, registering 8 international offers and 428 domestic offers on the first day, and concluding with around 555 total offers (including PPOs) on the second day as top recruiters continued to place across multiple profiles. The institute said the early figures reflect a “promising and high-energy start”, driven by strong student preparation and broad industry participation.
The placement season started on schedule, witnessing an encouraging response from both students and companies on campus. IIT Roorkee said it has expanded its recruitment base this year through strategic collaborations with organizations such as AI, data analytics, semiconductor technologies, sustainability, financial services and core engineering, ensuring a multi-disciplinary mix and roles in line with the evolving needs of the industry.
Day 1: 8 international offers, 428 domestic offers
As Slot 1.1 ended at 1pm on December 1, the institute had already secured 8 international offers and 428 domestic offers – significantly higher than last year’s opening number. Recruiters from technology, research, consulting, finance and core engineering sectors visited the campus, indicating broad hiring appetite despite the cautious global environment.
Prominent recruiters on the first day included Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Oracle, Rubrik India, SAP Labs, SLB Engineering & Software, iRageCapital, SquarePoint Capital, Databricks, DE Shaw, Mastercard, Petronet LNG, Meesho, Flipkart, NatWest Group, Pace Stock Broking, Zomato (Eternal) and many others. Major engineering companies like BEL, HPCL, BPCL and Bajaj Auto were also among the early visitors.
The institute said it has placed special emphasis on diversifying job profiles this year, ensuring opportunities for students with diverse interests – from high-level research and algorithmic trading to sustainability, product management and semiconductor roles.
Day 2: 42 companies hire; Total offer crosses Rs 550
The momentum continued till 2 December, with 42 companies visiting the campus by 4 pm in slots 1.2 to 2.1. With this, the total number of companies participating in the first two days increased to 116, many of which were offering multiple job profiles.
Key recruiters on day two included Accenture, Accenture Japan, American Express, Applied Materials, Barclays, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deutsche Bank, InfoEdge, InMobi, MathWorks, Media.net, McKinsey & Company, Pathlock, Postman, Cure.AI, Razorpay, OLA Electric, Sprinklr, Teradata, ThoughtSpot, Urban Company, Visa, Warner Bros. Discovery, Wex Fintech. And much more.
Recruitment remained broad-based, spanning software engineering, AI/ML, product development, deep-tech research, fintech, data science, business analytics, consultancy and healthcare-tech.
Have a strong season ahead
IIT Roorkee said the initial placement increase reflects its continued focus on strengthening global partnerships and building a placement ecosystem that matches the academic expertise and professional aspirations of students. With many results still awaited and more companies to come in the coming days, the institute expects the numbers to continue to grow.
