Big news for lakhs of candidates seeking government jobs in banking sector: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has announced a significant increase in Clerk Recruitment 2025. The total number of vacancies has now reached 15,684. This is especially beneficial for candidates who have cleared the preliminary exam and are preparing for the mains exam, thereby potentially lowering the IBPS preliminary cutoff.
Originally, IBPS had released a notification for 10,277 vacancies, which was revised twice. 2,151 additional posts have been added to the IBPS Clerk vacancy list in the latest update, reflecting the increasing demand for clerk level posts in public sector banks.
The first hike took the vacancies to 13,533, and now, with an additional 2,151 vacancies, the total has crossed 15,000. This increase will impact the selection process, giving more candidates a chance to participate in the IBPS Main Exam 2025.
States like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi have seen an increase in vacancies, giving candidates from these regions more opportunities to secure jobs in public sector banks. The complete vacancy list is now available on the official website ibps.in.
IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2025: Revised Vacancy Details
The states with the most candidates saw significant growth:
Uttar Pradesh: Vacancies have increased from original 1,315 to 2,781.
Bihar: The number of posts has increased to 760.
Madhya Pradesh: Vacancies increased from 601 to 958.
Rajasthan: Posts increased from 328 to 408.
Delhi: The number of vacancies remains unchanged at 279.
The IBPS Clerk Prelims exam for this year was held on October 4, 5 and 11, 2025. Candidates who qualify the Prelims will be eligible to appear for the IBPS Clerk Mains exam to be held on November 29, 2025. Admit cards for Mains will be released after the declaration of Prelims result.
IBPS Clerk Main Exam Pattern 2025:
The final merit will be completely based on the marks obtained in IBPS Mains 2025 examination. The exam will have a total of 155 questions for 200 marks, with a time limit of 120 minutes (two hours). It will include sections like General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks.
