The mother of a 23-year-old biker, who was killed after being hit by a wrong-way car in Gurugram on Sunday morning, has sought justice for her son and accused the Gurugram police of not helping her.
Raising questions over the immediate bail granted to the accused in the head-on collision case, the victim’s mother said the city police were not helping them.
“I want justice for my son. A wrong person killed my son. My only question is why was he released on bail? My son is no more, but he (the accused) slept peacefully that night… Why are the police not helping us?…”
Meanwhile, ACP DLF Gurugram Vikas Kaushik has said, “He (the accused) produced all the papers but said he didn’t have a licence at that time but would produce it soon. So, we assumed he didn’t have one.”
ACP DLF Kaushik has instructed the investigating officer to add further sections in the case. Section of Motor Vehicle Act will also be added.
ACP DLF said, “We have instructed the investigating officer to add more sections to the case. Sections of the Motor Vehicles Act will also be added and if needed, further action will be taken. He has submitted the documents of his vehicle…”
Earlier on Sunday morning, in a tragic incident, a 23-year-old biker died in Gurugram after his bike was hit by an SUV travelling in the wrong direction. The victim has been identified as Akshat Garg, a resident of Dwarka, Delhi. He was riding his bike with his friend when the fatal accident took place on Golf Course Road near Belvedere Park in DLF Phase II, Gurugram.
According to a report Hindustan Times “Neither the car driver nor Garg had any chance to avoid the collision,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying.
His friend Pradyuman Kumar, who was following him on another bike, said, “The GoPro camera on my helmet recorded the entire accident. But the police did not take a copy of the footage even after seeing it.”
