Netflix adapts Anna Huang’s bestselling romance novel
Written by Chinese-American author Anna Huang, the OTT giant has acquired the rights to adapt her popular romantic book series Twisted Love and its sequel into a TV series, reports Variety. The deal, reportedly worth a seven-figure sum, will add to Netflix’s growing collection of successful romance book-to-screen adaptations. If greenlit, the Twisted series will join the ranks of other popular adaptations making waves in the romance genre.

About Twisted Love Series
According to the official synopsis, “An exciting new adult series that follows the lives of four best friends and their love relationships, filled with dark secrets from their past, as they overcome the barriers separating them to fall in love. Let’s remove it.”

Casting details for the adaptation have not yet been revealed. Ana Huang’s Twisted novel series, which began with Twisted Love in 2021 and was followed by Twisted Games, Twisted Hate, and Twisted Lies, has achieved global acclaim, selling more than 12 million copies worldwide. The first book reportedly spent an impressive 60 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into several languages.

As reported by Variety, the series enjoys considerable popularity within TikTok’s BookTok community, where users share videos related to the book, including reviews, discussions, and recommendations. Best-selling novel author Anna Huang has published 13 novels in four different series, which have collectively sold over 18 million copies worldwide.
