Elon Musk, CEO of Rocket Company SpaceX billionaire, has claimed that his starships may travel to Mars within six months instead of an estimated 10 years.
How? When the planets align by traveling, “every 26 months” (or 2.2 years), which will reduce the physical distance between the Earth and Mars, and theoretically it means that we can reach the red planet faster.
In particular, SpaceX is ready for its next space mission later today, and the ambitious Mars projects of Elon Musk have been promoted with a date for 2026.

“Starship can reach Mars every 26 months when the planet (SIC) align,” he wrote. The world’s richest man attached a post on X and commented on how long it would take to reach each planetary body in our solar system, depending on the current speed and their distance from the Earth.
Elon Musk mentions that scientists are called “opposition”. This occurs when the Sun catchs their revolutions around the Earth and Mars, and the planet of our house is stationed between the central star and the red planet.
According to NASA, such protests occur only every 26 months, in which Mars becomes closest to the Earth at an interval of 15–17 years.
Currently, the distance between Earth and Mars is 249.03 million km. According to NASA, it could be reduced to 70.3 million km (seen in the 2005 opposition incident) during the protest.
SpaceX Mars Mission Update
In particular, on 15 May, Elon Musk announced that SpaceX’s starship rocket would depart to Mars with Tesla’s Humanoid Robot “Optimus” by the end of 2026. He said that SpaceX would be a test before going to “Human Landing” by 2029-2031.

In particular, the last two tests ended with the upper steps, which were spread in flames that rained debris on the Caribbean islands and disrupt flights. According to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX is transferring personnel and resources in a push to prepare a vehicle for Mars Mission next year to the Starship program.
