Charanjit Singh Channi also blamed the central government for the “undeclared emergency” in India.
“They speak about emergency every day. But what about the undeclared emergency in the country today? …It is also an emergency that a person elected as MP by 20 lakh people in Punjab is jailed under NSA. Speaking on the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, Charanjit Channi said, “Today a situation like financial emergency is being created in the country and the BJP is responsible for this. They talk about the Emergency of 1975 but today they talk about undeclared emergency in the country? This is also an emergency that one of the famous singers of the country, Sidhu Moose Wala, was murdered and his family did not get justice.”
Charanjit Channi also blamed the BJP government for calling the farmers Khalistani. He said, “Farmers are called Khalistani when they make demands and they are not fulfilled. This is also an emergency.” Channi said that the government is ignoring the demands of the farmers.
The former Punjab chief minister also said that the state has been ignored in Budget 2024. “This is not a budget to save the country, it is just to save his government. He has not addressed the floods in Punjab, has not increased wages and has ignored Punjab in this budget. Jalandhar was declared a smart city but it still has a big problem of dirty water and drugs,” he said.
