These places have included religious and cultural places like Durvasa Rishi Ashram and Bahra Devasthan at Gaura of Budhanpur tehsil. They will be developed as a tourist destination. This scheme is to be implemented by Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. UP STDC has been nominated as an executive body for this. Work on this project will be started soon.

The places which have been identified in Azamgarh by the tourism department will pay attention to the beautification and expansion of religious, cultural and historical sites. Under this project, all facilities like better road connectivity, resting place, signage and sanitation will be developed at identified places. On completion of these projects, not only will local tourism be promoted, but it will also give people a chance to create employment. Under this project, beautification and tourism facilities will be developed and developed tourism facilities of Bahira Dev Baba place, Durvasa Rishi Ashram in Phulpur Powai, Brahmalin Baba Ashram in Dhannipur and Sri Ram Janaki Temple located in Mishrapur.

Regional Tourism Secretary Rupesh Kumar Gupta informed that the scheme of development of tourism sector has been approved under the state government and district plan in Azamgarh. In this, approval has been given by the government for the development of four tourist places.
