Dhadak 2 movie review
Cast: Siddhanat Chaturvedi, Triptai Dimri
Director: Shazia Iqbal
Star Rating: ★★ .5
Dhadak 2 reminded me of 3 idiots in two examples. I know, completely different styles. But listen to me. First, when Siddhanta Chaturvedi’s character says that in the same line, Aamir Khan’s Rancho did it after leaving life in 3 idiots: “This was a suicide, Nahi, murder.” The scene is also established here in a very similar way. And second, when a college professor of Rancho threw his hands and said, “What do you want?” While watching this film, one feels for more than a time. I explain why.
Dhadak 2, like your predecessor, has a adaptation. The first was based on the 2016 Marathi hit Sairat. This is a remake of a Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018). The director Shazia Iqbal remains perfect for the origin, rarely wandering from its origin.
Base
Nilesh (Siddhanta Chaturvedi) and Vadhi (Tripatiidi Mandi) are students in a law college. He belongs to an upper caste, he is a lower. She gets attracted, takes the first step while she hesitates, fully knows what it can do. His family strongly opposed the relationship and insults him. He removes himself; He is not. what happens next? Do they reunite, or do they face an end as serious in the first runner? You have to look at this to find out.

The biggest problem with dhadak 2 is that it takes a long time to find out what he wants to be. And when it does it at the end, it struggles to live continuously. The first half, almost completely focuses on the love story. Writing (by Shazia Iqbal and Rahul Badwellkar) tried to convince us about the chemistry between the lead, but it never looks natural. Strangely, with two newcomers such as the original Dhadak, Johvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khat, first felt more reliable in catching the innocence of love.
How much struggle is a lot of struggle?
Conversely, Dhadak 2 is running too much in 2. There, caste violence, a political subplot, even a psychiatric killer targets young adults of low caste who dare to love outside their caste. At one point, you begin to be surprised: how much struggle is a lot of struggle?
He said, the second half is the place where the film finally finds its voice. It sheds the forced romance and brings the main issue- caste discrimination- at the forefront. Nilesh hits back. Stress increases. And the film briefly becomes entertaining. There is also a thread on the rights of women thrown somewhere.
Dhadak 2 has capacity, but its lack of editing reduces it. Omkar Uttam Sakpal and Sangeeth Varghese should have been trimmed at least 20 minutes. In the climax, the teachings become loud, and as a result, the effect becomes wasteful. And while the end promises a better world, it does not translate into a satisfactory conclusion, appears.
Nevertheless, the film is entitled to credit to deal with hard scenes with honesty. The severity of the subject comes many times, and even in some scenes earn applause from the audience.
How are the performances?
Siddhanta Chaturvedi gave a good performance, which is trapped in systemic injustice to a young man, but still finding a way. Triptai Dimri also handles a complex role – a woman was caught between her family’s harsh beliefs and her love for Nilesh. But this is the principle that takes charge in the latter half, leads to emotional weight because his character is pushed to the brink.
Zakir Hussain stands out as the principal of the college, and therefore Saurabh Sachdeva is as an opponent.
Interestingly does not work here within the music story by interesting Kohli, Tanishq Bagchi, Javed Mohsin and Shreyas Puranik, they can otherwise be made for good songs.
Finally, Dhadak 2 is a film that leads a powerful message, but makes her storytelling with her story. It wants to speak about caste, oppression and systemic injustice- and when it happens, it hits the correct notes. But it is weighed by an uneven story and an oversech runtime. It could have been a difficult social drama. Instead, it resides for moments of burial talent under a toned opportunities.
