Nowadays thousands of files, photos, videos and documents are filled in everyone’s computer. Many times when we want any important file immediately, then there is a lot of difficulty in finding it. If you also struggle with this problem, then by adopting some easy tricks, you can manage and organize your files well.
The first and easiest way is to make a folder. Make folders according to different work, such as office work, personal documents, photos, videos. Whenever a file is needed from this, you will go directly to the right folder and get it.
Give the correct name to the files- Often we save the file under the name ‘New Document’ or ‘Untitled’. It becomes difficult to find later. It would be better to keep the name of the file clean and small, such as ‘invoice_july 2025’ or ‘birthday photos’. This will make it easier to find the file.
Put the date and version- If many versions of a file are formed, then enter the date or version number in the name. Such as ‘Report_v1’, ‘Report_v2’ or ‘Project_2025_08’. This will not make you confuse which is the latest.
Keep the desktop clean- Often people save every file directly on the desktop. This makes the desktop look scattered and it becomes difficult to find the file. Try to keep only the necessary shortcuts on the desktop and save the rest of the files in your folder.
Use search and tags- Both Windows and Macos have an option of search and tags. You can make a category by tagging the files and search them directly by the name of tag if needed.
Use cloud storage- Use cloud storage like Google Drive, Onedrive or Dropbox. With this, not only your files will be safe, but you will be able to access them with any device.
Clean from time to time- Every week or a month, delete non-ejruru files and duplicate photo-video from computer once a month. This will also save storage and the system will run fast.
