A plane crashed into houses and shops in Gramado, a city popular with tourists in southern Brazil. All 10 people on board the plane died in this accident. News agency Reuters quoted Brazilian civil defense officials as saying that no one on board the plane survived. “Unfortunately, preliminary reports indicate that those on board the plane did not survive,” Governor Eduardo Leite said in a post on social media platform X.
In a separate report by news agency AFP, citing Brazilian officials, it was said that nine people have died. “Civil Protection has confirmed nine deaths and there are no survivors on board the plane,” Kleber dos Santos Lima, director of the interior police department of the state civil police, told the news agency.
Rio Grande do Sul state officials told the news agency that 15 people had been taken to the city’s hospital. He is being treated for smoke damage caused by the fire caused by the accident.
