IIM Calcutta released the provisional answer keys for CAT 2024 on Tuesday afternoon – the objection window is open till December 5. Candidates who appeared for the exam will now be able to download the key from the official website iimcat.ac.in.
The institute has also opened the window for the candidates to lodge objections through the official website. This will be possible till 11:55 pm on 5th December. According to an official notice, the administration will scrutinize and verify the objections and then prepare its final result based on the same.
The final result is likely to be released on the CAT website by the second week of January 2025. Candidates may also be informed individually through SMS.
Candidates wishing to raise objections will have to use the ‘Objection Management’ link given on the CAT website. They have to use their application login ID and password before registering their complaint.
The CAT exam was conducted on 24 November in three sessions across India. Data shared on the iimcat.ac.in website shows that out of the total 3.29 lakh registered eligible candidates, around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.
The marks will be subjected to ‘normalisation’ to ensure fairness and equity for all students. This process will adjust for differences in the location and scale of score distributions across forms, as well as for generalization across different classes. The final score will be converted into percentage for use in shortlisting.
