According to Mint report and Counterpoint Research data, about 65 lakh units of iPhone 16 were sold in the first 11 months of 2025. This figure is much higher than popular budget phones like Vivo Y29 5G, whose sales were around 47 lakh units during the same period.
The special thing is that the price of iPhone 16 is three times more than this phone of Vivo, yet a large number of customers went towards Apple.
Top 5 Another iPhone
Not only this, iPhone 15 was also included in the list of top-5 best selling smartphones of 2025. This phone comes at a starting price of around Rs 47 thousand, whereas in comparison Android phones are available for Rs 14-15 thousand. It is clear from this that Indian customers have now started giving importance not only to the price but also to the brand, features and long-term experience.
There are many reasons behind this success of Apple. The biggest reason is no-cost EMI, bank cashback and easy finance schemes. Due to these offers, even expensive phones have started appearing affordable to the people. Now customers are able to buy iPhone in easy installments instead of paying huge amount at once.
Interestingly, India’s smartphone market remained almost stable in 2025. Total smartphone shipments are estimated to be around 158 million units, which means there is not much growth. Despite this, Apple’s sales increased rapidly, which shows its strong strategy.
Many new stores also opened
Apple not only increased sales in India, but also focused on local manufacturing and retail stores. In 2025, the company opened new Apple stores in Bengaluru, Pune and Noida, increasing the number of its stores in India to five.
Overall, the success of iPhone 16 proves that Apple is no longer just a premium brand in India, but is rapidly becoming mainstream.
