New Delhi. Kishore Kumar was one such multidimensional artist of Hindi cinema whose voice, acting and music brought the Indian film industry to new heights. Kishore Kumar, who gave his voice to songs like ‘Mere Sapne Ki Rani’, ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, ‘Chingari Koi Bhadke’ to ‘A Girl Bhegi Bhagi Se’, was awarded the Filmfare Award 8 times, which received a record in that period, but never received the National Film Award. In an interview recently, Kishore Kumar’s son and singer Amit Kumar revealed that the late singers once came close to the National Award, but retreated due to demand for bribe.

The film was released in 1964 and was a tremendous hit at the box office. At that time, it was reported that the film was being considered for the National Award.
