Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced a total of 1,250 vacancies in various administrative departments of Bihar State Government and issued a short notification for the 71st Joint Competitive Examination (CCE) 2025. The online application process will start from June 2, 2025, and will continue on the official website – bpsc.bihar.gov.in by 30 June 2025.
The selection process will begin with the prescribed preliminary examination for August 30, 2025, followed by interviews in the main examination and later stages.

1,250 posts are distributed in ten major administrative roles, with the highest vacancies in the posts of Block Cooperative Officer (502) and Block Minority Welfare Officer (459). Here is a breakdown:
Senior Deputy Collector – 100 posts
Financial Administrative Officer – 79 posts
Superintendent of Labor – 10 posts
Deputy Registrar/Joint Deputy Registrar – 3 posts
Sugarcane Officer – 17 posts
Block Cooperative Officer – 502 posts
Block Panchayati Raj Officer – 22 posts
Block Scheduled Caste/Tribe Welfare Officer – 13 posts
Revenue Officer – 45 posts
Minority Welfare Officer Block – 459 posts

Steps to apply for BPSC Prelims 2025
step 1: Official BPSC website – go to bpsc.bihar.gov.in
step 2: Click on the “Apply online” link under the 71st CCE Prelims 2025 section.
step 3: To generate login credentials, register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
step 4: Log in with your credentials and reach the application form.
Step 5: Fill individual, educational and communication details as required.
Step 6: Upload your photo and scan copies of the signature in the prescribed format.
Step 7: Select your favorite exam center and category (if applied).
Step 8: Carefully review the application form filled before submission.
Step 9: Pay the application fee and submit the application
Step 10: Download the confirmation page for future reference.
The Commission has also said that any additional vacancies received from government departments before June 30 can be included in this recruitment cycle.
This time no vacancies for SDM and DSP post
One of the most notable aspects of this year’s notification is the absence of vacancies for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Deputy Development Magistrate (SDM). These are usually some of the most demanded positions in CCE, and this year their exclusion marks a significant deviation from previous recruitment cycles.
