The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced 10% water cut in some areas of Bandra and Khar West (H-West ward) from February 27 to March 11, citing rehabilitation work at the Pali Hill reservoir.
According to the civic body, the areas that will face 10% water cut include Gajdar Dam, Dilip Kumar area, Pali Mala area, Union Park area (Khar West), Dandpara, Kantwadi, Sherly Rajan and some areas of Bandra West. Are.
The civic body is repairing and rehabilitating the 600 mm old water inlet main pipe of the Pali Hill reservoir in H-West ward, which will lead to reduced water supply.
“Regular water supply in H/West ward will resume after March 11 (Monday). The BMC administration sincerely requests the residents to cooperate and use water judiciously during this period,” the BMC bulletin said.
It is important to note that water supply in H-West ward was affected from February 16 to 21 as the civic body was repairing a 600 mm diameter water channel in its Pali Hill reservoir.

Separately, the BMC is still awaiting the report of an eight-committee comprising IIT-B members on structural stability for the Malabar Hill reservoir. Three committee members have already submitted their reports and five members have still not submitted their reports, which were expected within a month of the inspection scheduled to be completed on December 18, 2023.
