MMA Champion and Olympic wrestler Ben Ascrain is recovering from a double lung transplant. In a heart -touching video that has now gone viral on social media, Oscrain shared an update on his health for the first time after receiving double lung transplantation.
Who is Ben Askrain?
40-year-old Oscrain started his MMA Career 19–0 and held the most specially Belter MMA and Welterweight titles at a championship. He infected the MMA after an amateur wrestling career representing the United States at the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Oscrain won three Big 12 Championships in Missouri and two NCAA Division I Championships, 2005 PAN American Championships and by adding gold medals at the 2005 World Championships. He reached the quarter -finals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Oscrain infection in Ashtakona after his wrestling career and compiled 19–2 records with a no-containth in 22 MMA quarrels. Oscrain became the Belter Welterweight Champion in 2010 and made his UFC debut in 2019.
He lost two out of three quarrels in the UFC, including a five -second knockout necklace to George Masswidal in Las Vegas in UFC 239.
Oscrain made a unsuccessful boxing debut on 17 April 2021, losing to Jake Paul by TKO in the first round.
What happened to Ben Askrain?
UFC veteran Ben Askraine was admitted to the hospital in early June with a life-darling case of Pneumonia. He went on ventilator support on 17 June and according to his wife, was added to the transplant waiting list on 24 June.
Askraine’s wife, Amy Askraine, has provided updates on her husband’s position from time to time and the process she has tolerated during her fear of health came to light for the first time on 6 June.
As CBS sportsThe 40 -year -old father of three children, Oscrain, developed pneumonia after a staff infection. He was hospitalized in his home state of Wisconsin.

In an emotional video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Askraine discussed his recovery and shared some scary details.
Oscrain said that he lost 50 pounds in 45 days, dealing with severe pneumonia, and there is no memory of doing anything from the end of May to the beginning of July.
He said that his heart stopped several times during his scary fight with severe pneumonia. UFC veteran Ben Askrain said he “died four times” before the transplant of life -saving double lungs.

“I have not given you update in a while,” Askraine said in the video.
“I think you deserve one. Whenever all this is over – I really read only through my wife’s magazine because I do not remember anything from May 28 to July 2. No memory, zero thoughts, no thought happened. What happened. We will like all this. I will just read all this through my wife’s magazine. It is just like a film. It is just like a film. He died for only 20 seconds.”
He said, “But, I got a double lung transplant and made it on the other side. Getting a lot of strength. Learning to use everything again, I was really at a scale of yesterday and 147 pounds. I was not 147 pounds from the age of 15 years. So, I lost like 50 pounds in a 45-day period.
“The thing that was most imperfect to me was all love that I felt from everyone,” said Askrain.
“It was almost the same as I got my funeral. … The outbreak of love from the wrestling community was just amazing. So, I am more inspired than ever, what else can I do to get back, what I can help the best. I love you guys. I appreciate you guys,” he said.
“It has been difficult, not only on me, but on my whole family and close community. I appreciate everything. Hope you guys will appreciate the update. As I said, somewhere under the road, maybe Amy and I can expand everything a little more,” Ben said.
