India’s top B-schools including the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A), students are betting on external coaches and consultants to help students at a time when the job market has become uncertain between a slow economy provided by a business war by US President Donald Trump.
These consultants work closely with the students to help them understand the job profile that will suit them, whether they have the right ability and attitude for some companies, and if the compensation they expect is appropriate and said in the sink with the market trend, recruitment advisors and management college officials.
Hardip Singh said, “We provide one coaching to help students to help navigate their career paths with clarity and confidence. This includes career infection, personal guidance on strategic status, strategic status and alignment of career options with long-term professional goals.”

The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad is one of the B-schools that use correct management and services of external coaches that help in high expectations when playing in the job market.
“When people come with important work experience, they are often uncertain as to where they want to go. We work with a reputed executive coaching agency for our one-year Executive MBA course and are considering to expand similar services for a two-year MBA program,” Vishwanath Pingali, Chairperson, Pingle, Placement, IIM-A., said. In a one -year MBA course, students have more work experience, while a two -year program has a mixture of students without work experience and without students. Pingali said, “We have noted that aspirations are often mismatched,” explaining the reason behind the need for external help.
For example, coaches explain that if a student has a work experience in the banking sector, it is easy to find placement in finance or related field. However, similar changes from another profile such as investment banking such as marketing are difficult. Students are assigned both physical and virtual semester semesters.
There are five semesters in a one -year program.
The Indian School of Business (ISB) said that external coaches help students understand “the needs of transfer of modern labor markets”. This year, ISB tested students an AI-managed communication platform, an AI-managed communication platform to help students refine their ability to clarify and clarify ideas with “clarity and confidence.

Mint has learned that IIM-Raipur also uses external advisors to train its students.
While some B -schools are using external advisors, IIM Kozhikode launched a platform in 2024, called Care – Corporate Access, Readiness and Engagement, to understand the needs of the recruiters. Students, faculty members and employees visited 63 firms in the last one year. “It was also an opportunity to understand the current market landscape and challenges faced by the recruitments. Our aim was to invite more recruiters to visit and experience IIM Kozhikode in their entirety,” Ropp Kumar Gupta, Care Chairperson told Mint.
The 2025 batch has seen a better placement season which is a 2024 batch. Finance and counseling firms that were not renting with their general enthusiasm last year are back into B-schools with a healthy hunger. Crore-force salary, on one hand, some management colleges have seen the average salary, while others have seen an increase in the number of proposals.
