The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) to fill vacant posts of Group III employees in the state government was held on Sunday amid tight security with internet connectivity suspended for three-and-a-half hours across the state, an official said. ADRE Grade 3 Exam Live Updates
No untoward incident was reported from any of the 2,305 centres in the state.
After the completion of the examination, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the first ADRE examination was completed peacefully.

“My heartfelt gratitude to all the officers and employees of the Assam government who successfully completed this important task without any problem,” Sarma wrote on Twitter.
The Chief Minister said that he once again assures our young generation that transparency in government recruitment will remain our identity.
Candidates were seen standing in queues outside the examination centres since early morning even though the gates of the examination centres were to open at 10 am.
Internet services remained suspended from 10 am to 1.30 pm.

A large number of security forces were also seen deployed outside the examination centres.
A total of 11,23,204 candidates were eligible to appear for the examination at 2,305 centres across the state.
The authorities had identified 429 centres as “vulnerable” because of their geographical location and past history of fraud and other malpractices.
An official order said that internet connectivity has been suspended as in the past too some unscrupulous elements had resorted to unfair means by using various mobile applications like Facebook, WhatsApp, X (Twitter), Telegram, YouTube and others which are based on internet/Wi-Fi connectivity.
Earlier, the Chief Minister wished all the candidates appearing in the examination.
“All the best to all the candidates appearing for the ADRE Class III exam. Try your best with full honesty and integrity and with a calm mind. Best wishes,” Sarma wrote on X.
Northeast Frontier Railway has run 12 special trains for the examination and extended the destinations of four regular trains.
The Assam Secondary Education Board (SEBA), on behalf of the state-level recruitment for class III posts, had announced that the written examination for class III posts with Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) eligibility will be held on September 15 for recruitment to the vacant posts.
The state government has taken extensive steps to ensure fair selection of candidates as several recruitment scams have taken place in the state in the past several years.
