Television actor Abhinav Shukla, known for her work on the small screen, recently opened up about a discouraged audition experience in her film career. Taking his Instagram stories on Monday, Abhinav revealed that in 2014, around the release of his film Roar, he met with Yash Raj Films prominent casting director Shanu Sharma, only that he could be told that he had a shortage of “spark”.
Avinash details his YRF audition
“When my film Roar was slapped to release back during the day, I was kajol to meet YRF’s casting director by my well -wishers.
However, Abhinav shared that years later, he had a lot of upliftment with acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He was auditioning for Sanjay’s ambitious project Inshallah, which was eventually given shelter, but the conversation left a permanent impression.
“I was sitting face to face with Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir for my next Inshallah. I remember SLB was all praising, all appreciated, and asked me many times, ‘How much you have done so much work? I saw the audition – you are super talent,” Abhinav remembered.
Abhinav expresses solidarity with Isha Talwar
Although the film never became physical, Abhinav said that Sanjay’s praise marked a significant turn in his visit. “The film was sheltered; My fate took a turn!” He said. He offered solidarity for fellow actor Isha Talwar, whose recent revelation revealed a derogatory audition that inspires the wave of similar stories from the actors.
Isha, known for her role in Mirzapur, recently recalled a “strange” casting experience, asking her to cry in the middle of a restaurant. “I found the request strange and went away,” he said, admitting that that moment still shook his confidence. Reacting to Isha’s post, Abhinav wrote: “@talwarisha I can relate, and I think insults are the opportunity to meet those who give importance to your talent and time!”
Manipuri actor Bijou Thangjam also opened about his YRF experience
After these revelations, Manipuri actor Bijou Thangjam, who appeared in Mary Kom, also shared his audition experience with Shanu Sharma. Speaking about his first audition for detective boomkesh Bakshi starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput, Thangjam, he said that he was nervous in Hindi at that time and was not fluent, but firm to give it his best.
Shanu Sharma recently acted in Siara’s casting process, starring two new people, Ahaan Pandey and Aetet Padda. The film turned into a blockbuster at the box office and made them condolences overnight.
