New Delhi. WhatsApp has released a new feature for regular chats. This will allow users to create events. Earlier this feature was limited to communities only. But it seems that WhatsApp has now considered extending this feature to regular chats to improve collaboration and coordination. This means that now events can be created even without joining any community.
Through this feature, users can input event details such as name, description, date and optional location. They can also tell whether a voice or video call is required. It is clear from this step that the company wants to provide the best possible features to the users.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, changes will be made to the paper-clip options in the new update. WhatsApp has expanded the options to choose from. On clicking the paper-clip option, the application used to get the option of image, document, audio, contact, location and add a poll. After the update, there will be another option to create an application event.
Once created, members within the group chat will be able to view and accept event invitations. The creator will continue to have the ability to update event details as needed. It is important to note that events are always securely end-to-end encrypted. This means that only the participants in the conversation have access to event details and communications. This ensures the privacy of all group members.
This update is being rolled out in a phased manner. Hence, the event feature for group chats is available to some users. It is available to users who have installed the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store and it will be available to more people in the coming days. It will be available to both stable and beta version users.
