Tata Motors is working on a mid-life update for the Tata Punch, and several test mules have been spotted on Indian roads over the past few months. Although the vehicles have been heavily camouflaged, the changes underneath are becoming apparent.
When is it likely to be launched?
Tata Motors has not yet officially confirmed the launch date. However, depending on the testing activity and the stage of development, the Punch facelift is expected to be launched within the current financial year. This points to a possible opening sometime in 2025.
What is changing outside?
The most noticeable changes will be visible. The facelifted Punch is expected to get a completely redesigned nose with slim LED daytime running lights. Taking inspiration from the clean and sleek design language seen on the Punch EV, the grille will also be new.
The spy shots also show vertically stacked headlights, similar to the layout of the electric version. The front bumper will be redesigned to match the updated face.
Along the edges, the overall silhouette will remain unchanged. However, Tata is likely to introduce a new set of alloy wheels and revised wheel covers. At the rear, the taillights are expected to be subtly updated, along with minor changes to the rear bumper.
What updates can you expect inside?
Inside the cabin, the Punch facelift is expected to closely align with the interior theme of the Punch EV. It will probably get the new two-spoke steering wheel seen in Tata’s new models.
In the higher variants, the existing instrument cluster is expected to be replaced by a 10.25-inch fully digital display. The current 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system is also likely to make way for a larger 10.25-inch unit on the top trims. The air conditioning control module is also expected to be updated.
Notably, test mules have been spotted with radar sensors integrated into the front bumper. This suggests that Tata Motors may introduce ADAS features in the Punch facelift. A 360-degree camera is also expected to be added to the feature list.

Will anything change under the bonnet?
Despite the update, the mechanicals will remain unchanged. The Punch facelift will continue with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86 hp and 113 Nm. Transmission options will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. The CNG variant will also continue to be offered.
