A total of 7,790 applicants have demanded graduation in Delhi University under the children and widows (CWs) of the Armed Forces Supernumery Kota for the 2025-26 academic session.
Delhi University has released a temporary list of eligible candidates under the CW category and urged all applicants to carefully verify their eligibility and priority status indicated on the website.
The university has specified that people who need to submit their legitimate academic concession certificate (ECC) and assistant documents should do so by 11:59 pm on Monday, July 28. This will be the last chance to present the required documents, with no more expansion.
According to the university policy, five percent of seats in all graduate programs in colleges are reserved for widows of children and armed forces and paramilitary forces. Admission under this quota follow a priority system notified by the Ministry of Defense. All candidates have to introduce a valid ECC issued by a competent authority during admission, PTI said.
The priority system, as mentioned in the official notification, includes nine categories:
Priority I include widows or wards of defense personnel killed in action.
Priority II covers the wards of disabled personnel in action and exited due to disabilities related to service.
Priority III consists of widows or wards of those who died in service with death for military service.
The priority refers to wards of disabled personnel in IV service and exits due to disability due to military service.
Priority v includes the wards of pre-service or serving personnel, including police personnel, who have received valor awards such as Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Maha Veer Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, Army Medal (Bravery), and others.
Priority VI consists of wards of ex -servicemen.
Priority VII is for wives of defense personnel who were disabled in action or service, or ex -servicemen and service personnel awarded the medal of valor.
Priority VIII and priority IX are for wards and wives of the currently serving personnel respectively.
The university has also announced that seat allocation for CW category candidates will start from the third round of seat allocation under the General seat allocation system (CSAS), the report states.
