Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: The much-awaited sequel to Amar Kaushik’s 2018 hit horror-comedy film Stree released in theatres on Independence Day. Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, the film is estimated to have grossed over Rs 100 crore. Stree 2 Box Office Collection First Day
According to the website, Stree 2 had a special opening premiere on Wednesday, during which the film grossed over Rs 1.5 crore. The film earned ₹8 crore on its first day. 46 crores approximately, making the total amount estimated at 54.25 crores. This is the biggest opening day grosser of 2024, surpassing Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) and Fighter. These numbers are record openings, considering that Stree took 6 days The film grossed 54.88 crores in India. The film’s occupancy on the first day in Hindi was 75.09%.
Stree 2 Review
Hindustan Times reviewed Stree 2, “Let’s talk about what the film has – the humour. Niren Bhatt (story, screenplay, dialogue credits) keeps the pace of the film going, and the first half is pretty great. The jokes just don’t stop coming, and that’s what the audience is looking for. It’s naughty, it’s original. After a point, the jokes just don’t hold up. It’s the ensemble of pure talent that makes Stree 2 what it is, led by the able Rajkummar Rao.”
About Stree 2
Stree 2, directed by Amar, features Rajkummar and Shraddha reprising their roles from the original. The film tells the story of how Sarkata now terrorises the people of Chanderi and they now look to Stree for help. The film also features several star cameos that have been carefully kept secret by the makers. Varun Dhawan reprises his role as Bhediya, even appearing in a song with Shraddha.
Stree 2 faced tough competition from Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu’s film Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham, Sharvari’s film Veda on the first day. Still, the film maintained its hold and did good business at the box office.
