For this, you do not even need to buy on Holi-Diwali, rather you will get this discount if you buy anytime in the next one year. But, it must be kept in mind that if you buy next year you will get only half the discount.
In fact, the Modi government on Tuesday launched the PM e-Drive scheme with an outlay of Rs 10,900 crore. The objective of this scheme is to encourage rapid adoption of electric vehicles, establishment of charging infrastructure and development of EV manufacturing ecosystem in India. The scheme will be implemented from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2026.

How much discount will you get?
Along with the scheme, EMPS-2024 (Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme), which is being implemented from April 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024, will be included in the PM e-Drive scheme. Under the PM e-Drive scheme, the subsidy for electric two-wheelers has been fixed at Rs 5,000 per kilowatt hour on the basis of battery power. In the second year of the scheme, it will be halved to Rs 2,500 per kilowatt hour and the total benefit will not exceed Rs 5,000.
What is the profit on buying in the first year?
Let us tell you that at present the battery capacity of companies like Ola, TVS, Ather Energy, Hero Vida (Hero MotoCorp) and Chetak Bajaj ranges from 2.88 to four kilowatt hours. Their price ranges between Rs 90,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh. If you buy a bike or scooter with a capacity of 4 kilowatts, you can get a total discount of up to Rs 20 thousand at the rate of Rs 5000 per kilowatt.
You can claim through mobile app
Introducing the scheme, Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, said that a mobile app will be introduced to make the entire process seamless. Through this, e-voucher can be created to get subsidy under the scheme. One vehicle will be allowed for one base. As soon as the vehicle is sold, the e-voucher will be generated and you will get the subsidy.
Discounts on all types of vehicles
He informed that Rs 780 crore has been earmarked to improve testing facilities under the PM e-Drive scheme. In this, a subsidy of Rs 3,679 crore has been given to encourage E-2W, E-3W, E-Ambulance, E-Truck and other EVs. Under the scheme, 24.79 lakh electric two-wheelers (E-2W), 3.16 lakh electric three-wheelers (E-3W) and 14,028 e-buses will get subsidy. Three-wheelers including e-rickshaws will get an incentive of Rs 25,000 in the first year, which will be halved to Rs 12,500 in the second year.
