New Delhi: Volodymyr Zelensky’s real tension is now going to increase amid the Russia-Ukraine war. Putin has given such an order, which will create panic not only in Ukraine but also in NATO countries including America. Russian President Putin is once again going to increase the strength of his army. He has ordered to increase the number of Russian soldiers. 1.80 lakh soldiers will be recruited in the Russian army. This will increase the number of active soldiers in the Russian army to 15 lakh. After increasing 180000 soldiers in the army, with a strength of 15 lakh active soldiers, the Russian army will be the second largest army after China. This is the third time after the war with Ukraine, when Putin has increased the size of the army after 2022.
According to the Kremlin’s order, after this increase, the total number of Russian military personnel will be around 24 lakhs. Putin has ordered to increase the total number of Russian armed forces to 23 lakh 80 thousand. This will include 15 lakh active soldiers. These new soldiers joining the Russian army will be ready to perform their duties from December. Now only China is ahead of Russia in terms of active soldiers. Russia has left even America behind. China has around 20 lakh active military personnel. On the other hand, India has around 14 lakh active military personnel.
Zelensky’s tension will increase
It is important to mention here that Putin is expanding his army for the third time since the attack on Ukraine in February 2022. This new order of Putin is no less than a big tension for Zelensky. NATO countries including America are trying to isolate Russia and break Putin. But instead of bowing down, Putin is increasing his strength. Even though Zelensky wants a ceasefire in the Ukraine war, Putin’s intentions do not seem to allow the war to end so soon. However, Putin wants a ceasefire on his own terms. The motive behind increasing the number of the army may also be that he wants to drag the war on for longer.
Why is this order important?
This order of Putin is also important because the Ukrainian army has entered the Kursk region of Russia. Also, last month Ukraine attacked the Kursk region with lightning speed from across the border. This was the first foreign invasion of Russian territory since World War II. This is the reason why Putin is now red with anger and he is taking a tougher stand against Ukraine. Last week Russia intensified its efforts to drive out Ukrainian troops from Kursk and is moving towards the important Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk in the eastern Donbass region. Since 2022, Putin has ordered the expansion of the number of combat troops twice.
When did Putin increase his troops?
In August 2022, Putin ordered an increase of 1,37,000 soldiers. This brought the number of soldiers in the Russian army to a little over 20 lakhs. This included 11.5 lakh active soldiers. Then in December, Vladimir Putin ordered another official expansion of 1,70,000 soldiers, taking the total number to 13.2 lakhs. Zelensky will now be in fear due to this move of Putin. America will also be no less tense due to the number of active soldiers.
