Zeenat Aman remembered, ‘Feroze Khan got angry’
He began writing alongside two pictures of Qurbani, “I read somewhere that the Oxford word for the year 2023 is ‘Riz’ – short for ‘charisma’. Well, if I’ve ever known anyone about Riz, So that was Firoz Khan.”
After this Zeenat mentioned an incident related to the late actor. He said, “Feroze and I did not get off to a good start. It was the 70s, my star was on the rise and he called me on the telephone to offer me a role in his upcoming production. It was a secondary part, and so I took up the offer. Politely declined. Firoz became angry and uttered a volley of abuses while I moved the receiver away from my ear!”
Zeenat further said that after several months he called again. This time Firoz started his talk by saying, “This is the lead role so don’t reject it.” “And that’s how I joined the cast of Qurbani,” she recalled. The veteran actor, who has gained wide recognition for his Instagram posts filled with nostalgia and anecdotes, said, “I often discuss set etiquette in my captions, so it would be wrong to ignore Firoz’s influence on me in this regard. will be.”
‘You are late and you will have to pay the price’
Recalling another incident, she wrote, “I was a very hard worker, but on one occasion my youth got the better of me. Although we had an early call time the next day, I went to a party. Got ready. It was a wonderful night of dancing and drinks, and not surprisingly I arrived on the set an hour late. Firoz was beaming behind his camera, and before I could give him my meager excuse, He cut me down to size, ‘Begum (equivalent to Mrs. in Urdu), you are late and you are going to pay for being late’. No argument, no scolding, but you can rest assured That he deducted my salary to pay the crew for that one hour delay!”
Finally, Zeenat wrote, “Feroze was suave, charming and polished. He was a talented actor-director, and Qurbani remains one of my favorite projects to date. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this anecdote And I hope 2024 ends on a high note for you!” Directed by Feroz Khan, Qurbani also featured Vinod Khanna in the lead role.
