A fitness influencer who lost almost 15 kg without tracking her calories recently shared some ‘controversial’ food opinions in an Instagram post. When we think of weight loss, things like not eating your favorite dishes, working out every day, and giving up carbs come to mind. However, according to fitness coach Laura Dennison, you can lose weight by following some not-so-popular reminders like not snacking, avoiding eating out, and not taking protein supplements. Scroll down to know what he said.

‘Controversial’ food opinions to keep in mind while losing weight
In her post, Laura shared the tips that she follows in her daily routine, which ensures that she maintains her health while also not forgetting the things she loves. The fitness influencer said that she enjoys snacking throughout the day without having any specific meal time, does not avoid eating out and only focuses on portion control, says no to protein supplements, and much more. Check out his tips below.
- You don’t always need to have a set meal time. Some days, I just snack and snack all day.
- If you are trying to lose weight then you do not need to avoid eating out. You just have to monitor your portions and stop when you are full.
- Unless you’re trying to be a bodybuilder or athlete, you don’t really need to be radical about getting lots of protein. Some food, I barely have.
4. On the subject of protein, I think protein supplements are useless. I would much prefer to get my food from real sources.
5. If you have a calorie deficit, you are going to experience hunger. I’m sorry if this upsets you (not me, hahaha), but it’s normal to be hungry sometimes.
6. It’s okay to eat what you like just because you like it. Just because something is labeled a snack, you don’t have to eat a lot of it. If I eat cake for lunch and it fills me up, I won’t eat more because of it. That’s not being intuitive.
Apart from maintaining a healthy relationship with food, one also needs to give importance to rest time. According to research led by Daniel Bresson of the University of Westminster, rest days are important when you workout regularly. Read more about it here.
