New Delhi. Recently, some media reports said that the government is preparing to charge for using more than one SIM on a single phone. The reports said that the telecom regulator TRAI has prepared a proposal regarding this. It was said that the regulator can take such a decision to prevent misuse of numbers. However, now the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has rejected it, putting an end to the speculations of charging customers for having more than one SIM and numbering resources.

TRAI has issued a press release in this regard and said that after presenting a consultation paper on June 6, the news about having more than one SIM is false. It was said in the reports that TRAI has proposed to charge a fee for having a mobile and landline number, so that these resources can be used properly. But, TRAI said that this is not the case and such speculations are false and misleading people.

Note: The speculation that TRAI is planning to charge customers for multiple SIMs or numbering resources is completely false. These claims are baseless and are intended to mislead the public.
