The Education Ministry has asked CBSE to prepare logistics for conducting board exams twice a year from the 2025-26 academic session, PTI reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.
According to unnamed sources, the plan to introduce the semester system has been rejected, PTI reported.
PTI further reported that the Education Ministry will discuss with school principals next month to collaborate with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to conduct board exams twice a year.
Currently, the board is working on how the CBSE academic calendar should be structured to accommodate another set of board exams without impacting the undergraduate admission schedule.
“The ministry has asked CBSE to work out how board exams will be conducted twice a year. The board is working out the modalities and a consultation will be held with school principals next month,” the source told PTI.
As per the new curriculum framework (NCF) announced by the Ministry of Education, board examinations will be conducted twice a year to ensure that students have enough time and opportunity to perform well and have the option to maintain the best scores. meet.
