But the biggest problem is that the food which gives good cholesterol to the body also increases bad cholesterol. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to balance the diet so that the amount of bad cholesterol in the body is reduced and good cholesterol benefits health.

Why is bed cholesterol increasing?
Dr. Ashwini says that nowadays, along with good cholesterol, bad cholesterol is also increasing rapidly in people’s bodies, due to which cases like heart attack are coming to the fore. Actually, cholesterol is more in the food items that we get from animals. Like milk or milk products, meat etc.

However, a bigger reason for the increase in cholesterol level is that our food is getting refined. We did not have sugar 200 years ago, but now refined sugar is coming and is being used in our homes. The more refined a thing is, the more calories it becomes. If we look at our body, we still have the same genes that we had 100,000 years ago, but there is such a tremendous change in lifestyle that its effect is being seen on our health.

We are also consuming a lot of refined flour. Maida and its products have increased in our daily routine, whether it is bread, pizza, pasta, biscuits, junk and fast food, noodles or in any other form. The consumption of normal oil and ghee has decreased continuously and we are consuming refined oil daily, in which the use of chemicals has increased. A lot of calories are dissolved in them, which are reaching the body in abundance. While our body is unable to digest it. Therefore, cholesterol level, triglycerides, inflammation and many other things are increasing in the body, which trigger diseases like heart attack, diabetes etc.

Then what is the option? What should people do?

Dr. Mehta says that we have the option to improve it, which we should do. We should reorganize our life, eat simple food. Avoid packaged foods. Eat less of things made from refined flour and oil. Do not eat junk food more than once a month. Go for natural things as much as possible. Reduce the amount of refined items in the kitchen. Along with this, focus on physical activity as well. Exercise daily. If possible, walk 2 to 5 kilometers daily.

Ayurveda says that you should focus on your lifestyle, focus on your daily routine, decide the time of waking up and wake up before sunrise.
