The National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised candidates applying for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 to use the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAC) ID for registration to enhance transparency, efficiency and security. What is APAR ID?

What are the benefits of APAAR ID?

It improves efficiency, eliminates cheating, reduces cheating, and incorporates co-curricular achievements for comprehensive student development. Since no additional certificates are needed other than the shared APAAR ID, which stores all credentials, there is no risk of losing physical certificates. This makes it beneficial for various use cases, such as school transfers, entrance exams, admissions, job applications and skill or upskilling opportunities.
How can students get APAR ID?
To generate APAR ID, UDISE and Unique Student Identifier (PEN), Student Name, Date of Birth (DOB), Gender, Mobile Number, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Name as per Aadhar and Aadhar Number of the student are required. Students can follow the steps given below to create their APAR ID
Step 1- Verification: Visit the school to verify demographic details
Step 2- Parental Consent: Obtain parental consent if the student is a minor
Step 3- Authentication: Verify identity through school
Step 4- ID Creation: Upon successful verification, APAAR ID is created and added to DigiLocker for secure online access
Once the APAAR ID is generated, it is automatically uploaded to the student’s DigiLocker account. Virtual APAAR ID Card can be found in the “Documents Issued” section of DigiLocker. The APAAR ID generation status can also be tracked on the UDISE+ portal under the APAAR module, which shows a list with the APAAR ID status of the students. Students can request their school authorities to verify their APAR ID generation status.
