Have you ever wondered why there are only 2 pins in the mobile charger while the fridge, geyser and washing machine requires 3 pins. Let us explain to you in easy language what causes this happens.
Why does a mobile charger contain 2 pin?Only the need for phase and neutral is needed- the mobile charger takes electricity from AC (Alternating Current). The AC supply consists of three wires, fasting, neutral and meaning.
Mobile charger consumes very little power (from 5W to 65W or 120W). Earthy (3rd pin) is not required for such a low power. Earthing is mostly given in heavy devices (such as geyser, fridge, washing machine) as they are more prone to current leakage or shock. For example, like a small bulb or fan also moves on a 2-pin.
The laptop charger consumes more power and is used continuously. Therefore, meaning pin is given in them so that if there is a current leakage, there is no shock.
The charger already contains an inbuilt safety circuit which prevents over-voltage, over-end and short circuit. Therefore, the charger remains safe without meaning pin.
To keep size small
The 2-pin charger is compact and lighter. If the third pin is added, the size will become bigger, while it does not even need.
