New Delhi. The life of Bollywood’s evergreen actress Madhuri Dixit has always been inspiring. Madhuri, who ruled millions of hearts with her style in the 1980s and 90s, decided to shift to America after marrying Dr. Shriram Nene in 1999. At that time his career was at its peak, but he gave priority to his family. Recently, in an interview, Madhuri spoke openly about her decision to settle in America and the careers of her sons Arin and Ryan.
In an interview given to Mid-Day newspaper, Madhuri Dixit also told about leaving her career at its peak, settling abroad and then staying away from the spotlight. He also discussed about his sons – Arin and Ryan, and said that they call the film industry a ‘circus’.
Madhuri’s big dreams of marriage, home and children
The Dhak Dhak girl said- ‘Everyone has dreams in life and this was a big part of my dream. I always thought that I would get married, have a house, and have children. When it came true, I felt like a dream was coming true, so I didn’t think twice. I wanted him as my life partner, got married and started living in America. I used to meet my brothers and sisters who have been living there for a long time. Madhuri further added, ‘I knew how life is there, one has to do everything oneself. There was nothing shocking, rather I enjoyed the quiet time with myself. Doing my work, taking children to the park without being recognized… I was able to live these moments there.
Madhuri’s sons do not like the film world
Elder son Arin was born in 2003 and younger son Ryan in 2005. Madhuri told that the career interests of both of them are completely different from the film industry. Arin completed his graduation in 2024 and is now working at Apple. In this conversation, he said that Arin is working on a project related to noise cancellation in Apple. There were some signs of her wanting to be in films early on, but I think her passion is music. He produces his own music…the younger son is into STEM. He is into technology and engineering, math. Ryan is currently studying at the University of Southern California (USC).
Deliberately kept sons away from limelight?
When asked whether she deliberately kept her sons away from the limelight, Madhuri replied, ‘I did not keep them away. When they wanted to come with me, I took them and if not, I respected them. When we returned from America, they were 6 and 8 years old. My children are different, the younger one is not at all interested in this whole ‘circus’. Now it’s a circus, if you go anywhere. The elder one is more open, but both never entered the industry.

On the professional front, Madhuri Dixit’s web series ‘Mrs. Deshpande’ released on JioHotstar on 19 December 2025. This psychological thriller directed by Nagesh Kukunoor features Madhuri in the role of a serial killer. The series has 6 episodes and can be streamed for free in India. Madhuri’s upcoming film ‘Maa-Sister’ is also in the news, which is directed by Suresh Triveni. In this, Trupti Dimri, Ravi Kishan and Dharna Durga are in lead roles along with Madhuri. This is a comedy drama based on mother-daughter relationship.
